The Mechanical Engineer has ownership of the mechanical engineering work needed to ensure that the organization can buy, build, and install a heavy vehicle wash system that is capable of meeting the specification requirements in the most cost effective and timely manner possible.  The role is responsible for reviewing project specifications, defining the appropriate equipment packages, and designing the system appropriately to ensure downstream parties can perform work effectively.


  • Interprets customer specifications and other documents to develop the complete wash system design.
  • Provides design input into mechanical designers, production employees, vendors, and others.
  • Participate in reviewing and releasing submittal packages to customers and resolving customer red-lines where appropriate.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to develop equipment installation instructions.
  • Lead the release of engineering materials (drawings, BOM’s, etc.)  to the manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain an accurate bill of material (BOM) for designed/engineered equipment.
  • Ensure the equipment being started up and commissioned operates in accordance with the approved customer specification.
  • Support Manufacturing and Field Service as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely related engineering discipline required.
  • Minimum two years of design and engineering experience related to capital equipment or machine design required.
  • Two or more years of on-the-job experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or other comparable CAD software required, Inventor experience preferred.
  • Skills required include: problem-solving, time management, and effective communication.
  • Civil Design/Engineering experience is a plus.


  • Prolonged time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
